I think it was 1978 when I bought a brindle male puppy from Georgia. She was so very helpful and we truly loved our Winston. Cant really remember his full pedigreed name, but is was a long one!
She had told me that because of the heat inYakima, his already cropped ears may droop some. That was the case, and we couldnt make his right ear stand as it should.
She took him back to his regular vet in Ferndale and had his ears re-cropped a little shorter. When he had healed enough, we sped over the passes to pick Winston up and bring him to his forever home.
He was our pride and joy, and was the team mascot wearing a. jersey of the Pirates team on which my son played catcher, little league of course. Some people were afraid of him, simply because of his size. Those persons quickly changed their position as they learned he was truly a Gentle Giant. Unfortunately he developed a cancerous tumor in his shoulder which eventually took him down at the young age of 6 1/2. I will never forget that wonderful pup, and know someday we will meet again at the Rainbow Bridge. Their life span is so very short in comparison to ours, it is simply not fair!
Still think of you often, Georgia, and Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
I am now on my second Papillon, a breed that keeps you hopping! Hopefully it will help keep me young, because now at 71 Im getting a little slow myself.
